What inspires you the most?
Nature! I love sunsets, wildflowers, the moon, the ocean and mountains. When I’m feeling stressed I love to go watch the sunset and focus on the present. I feel immensely motivated and inspired to create just through appreciating the beauty of nature.
What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
My mom always tells me that everything happens for a reason. I think this concept is so true and it helps me step back from dwelling on situations and appreciate that a mistake or error might be part of a bigger picture that’s leading me towards something more positive.
What’s your spirit animal and why?
I feel I don’t have a spirit animal because I love all animals so deeply that there isn’t one specific kind that resonates with me the most. But, I can tell you I get overly excited when I see butterflies in the wild. I’ll scream and go chase them. I think they’re so fascinating and gorgeous.
Your artwork and photography is amazing!! How do you stay creative and what tips would you give to others?
Thank you! I find that I’m able to stay creative by really focusing my energy inward and spending a lot of time in nature. I also make a point to disconnect from screens as often as I can in order to center myself and remind myself what’s truly important in life. I would definitely advise others to do the same if they feel they’re struggling to conjure creativity. Being in nature is such a fundamental part of the human experience and I think theres so much we can learn from, and feel inspired by, in the Wild.
Top three Instagram accounts your crushing on right now are…
How would you describe your personal style?
I find I gravitate towards a lot of varied style but if I had to choose a way to categorize it I would probably say something like Vintage Boho 60s Rocker.
Fav place you’ve ever visited is…and why?
Monument Valley!!! I went for the first time last year and was so enamored with everything. The colors of the rock formations and the Native American culture and ideology surrounding the area is something beyond comparison to other places I’ve traveled. It’s a truly sacred and special place in the world.
Fav Neon Gypsy piece is…
I LOVE the long sleeve wrap maxi dresses. Wearing them open as a duster is such a fun wardrobe alternative.
Describe Neon Gypsy in 3 words
Magic. Boho. Goddess.
Any final words…
Thank you so much for interviewing me and welcoming me into your Neon Gypsy World! Visiting both of your boutiques in New Zealand while I was traveling was so fun and I hope I get to do it again in the near future. I also hope my words in this can inspire any readers to go outside and enjoy the beauty of life! xx
